Welcome Animal Lovers!

The Animal Protection Society, Inc. (APS) of Person County is a non-profit organization functioning as a county-wide humane society that is independent of Person County government and funding.  We are a goup of dedicated volunteers compassionate about promoting spay/neuter to reduce the pet over-population., which leads to the untimely death of so many of our beloved companions. We are also very compassionate in rescuing animals in danger, and placing them in to loving homes.  We do not have a shelter. Our animals rescued are placed in to our foster program where we provide, medical care, love, and nourishment while they are waiting for their forever homes.

Our objectives include the following:

  • promote spay/neuter to reduce the overpopulation of animals, a condition that leads to the neglect, abuse, and abandonment of animals in Person County
  • the placement of unwanted animals into responsible, loving homes.

^Miss Bea^

Miss Bea is around 3-4 yrs old. She was brought into the shelter as a stray. Unbeknown to us, she was pregnant when we rescued her, and she became the mama to 6 beautiful pups. Miss Bea's motherly instincts were wonderful. For the first 6 weeks she only left her puppies to go potty. All of her puppies have found their forever homes and Miss Bea is ready for hers. . She is a very sweet and friendly girl who would love to have a nice fenced in yard to play in, and a soft place to cuddle up with her family at night. Miss Bea is an indoor dog and she is very comfortable just lying around the house keeping you company. She is great with kids and very cat friendly. She is heartworm negative, spayed and vaccinations are up to date. She is housetrained and is ok to be left alone inside a home without supervision. She is still very nurturing and she has so much love to give. As you can tell, we think Miss Bea is quite a special lady!! Could you be the special one for her~~~!
