****FOSTER HOMES NEEDED****
COULD YOU BE THE ONE TO SAVE A ANIMAL'S LIFE!!
Do you feel disturbed by the sight of a hungry dog, an injured cat, or a stray homeless mama dog with puppies ? Do you want to do something to mitigate their suffering? ANSWER: Become a foster parent and help these forgotten animals. Sometimes they just need a little more time to find their forever home.
The Animal Protection Society of Person County is in need of foster parents year round! In addition to rescuing animals that are homeless, needy, and abandoned, we also rescue animals from the high kill Gassing Shelter here in PersonCounty whose time has run out. These grateful animals are placed into temporary homes so they can receive the socialization, love and extra care they need while waiting to find their forever home.
What are the requirements?
Prospective foster parents may click here for a foster application. All foster applicants are required to have a home visit done before the animal can come with you. Following the home visit we will contact you with a foster opportunity. The need for foster parents is always there. The more volunteers we receive the more animals we can save.
What are the expenses?
The APSofPC provides all the supplies needed to care for the foster animals. This includes food, litter, medications, bedding, toys and other enrichment items and veterinary care. However, any of the materials that you can provide will help offset costs and will go a long way to saving more animals.
What are the rewards?
Fostering instills a huge sense of accomplishment because you singlehandedly give a pet a second chance at life! Without foster parents hundreds of animals never receive the opportunity to find a loving home.
**~*~*Helpless animals die everyday because people just get tired or them and take them to the shelter. A foster animal becomes part of your family and will love you unconditionally and be forever grateful for a second chance*~*~*~
"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself."- Billings
"If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. It is the principal difference between a dog and a man." - Mark Twain
Prospective foster parents may click here for a foster application. You may also request an application by calling (336) 597-5013. If you are going to leave a voicemail, please be sure to clearly state your full name and email address or home address. Once your application has been approved, you will need to have a home visit. Once you have completed the home visit, you are ready to begin.
You don't have to adopt or foster an animal to help APS. We need all types of assistance.
- Do you have a particular skill that you can share?

Then again, you may be like many of us, strapped for time. If this is the case, please consider our SOS Program: Sponsor Our Spay (or Neuter). This program offers an avenue to put your money where you know it counts: reducing unwanted litters.
Regardless of your interest, if you're reading this page, you are obviously a person that wants to make a difference. So, please contact us or send an email to info@apsofpc.org . We need you!
Don't be shy. APS need members of all backgrounds, talents, and interests. Owning or fostering an animal is not a prerequisite. On the contrary, we need people to help with all of our ongoing programs, including the many aspects of fund raising, advertising, and research.
