Welcome Animal Lovers!

The Animal Protection Society, Inc. (APS) of Person County is a non-profit organization made possible by dedicated volunteers! We do not receive funding from Person County or any other governmental agency. We rely on donations from generous individuals, businesses, civic organizations, and our fundraising events.

Our volunteers are very passionate about rescuing animals in danger and placing them in to loving homes. We do not have a shelter! The animals we rescue are placed in foster homes where their medical needs are taken care of, they receive love and attention, and are socialized – teaching them how to live in a home setting.

  • Promote spay/neuter in an effort to reduce the overpopulation of animals
  • Place unwanted animals into responsible, loving homes
  • Educate our community on responsible pet ownership
  • Rescue animals in danger of being euthanized

APS meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. We meet at Roxboro Presbyterian Church in Roxboro (between Biscuitville and Rite Aid). Please join us!
